Dr. Barclay grew up in North-East England and went to St. Andrews University and Dundee Medical School in Scotland. He then graduated from the University of Iowa and completed his Family Medicine residency. He became board certified in 1978. Dr. Barclay was in academic medicine until 1996. Most recently, he served as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at University of Kansas-Wichita. He remains a Clinical Professor. Dr. Barclay and his wife, Joanne, have five grown children – Andy, Alex, Elizabeth, David, and Emily. He is delighted to return to Andover, and is enjoying working and learning with his colleagues at Andover Family Medicine.
